‘Conscious Uncoupling’
What prentious shit!!

Only Gwyneth Paltrow, Queen of ‘who can live without quinoa?’ could come up with such a pretentious phrase.
Either you stay together or you split up? They are your choices.
Try googling ‘conscious’ and its like the third option (or maybe thats just me!). It actually makes perfect sense.
Lets take a couple (purely arbitrary you understand), married (lets say nearing their twentieth year anniversary), a few (lets say six) kids who decide they really can no longer compliment each other.
What should they do?
Stay together for the sake of the kids and make each other (and also therefore, the kids, the extended family and friends) increasingly more and more miserable until everyone hates each other?
Or acrimoniously split up, shout expletives, demand extortionate sums, employ lawyers and kill everything (children, families, legacies, reputations, sanities) in their path?
Surely there must be a better way?
A way to say “we’ll always be family but really we’re better off not living together”?
A way to say “we’re not going to get richer doing this but we’ll all be better off mentally”
A way to say “just because we love each other, doesn’t mean we have to like each other but surely theres a better way than hating each other”.
Its a stupid stupid phrase.
But it might actually make some sense….
