Monday: Adelaide goes to A&E but dad decides he cant wait the estimated 6 hours because he has to get home to Grandma.

Tuesday: Dad takes Adelaide to Minor Injuries who xray and confirm broken collarbone

Wednesday: I ring GP who say they can’t issue a medical note (to claim back school trip money on insurance) without information from hospital. They tell me they only currently have her “did not wait” on file. I ask if its worth me making an appointment to see a doctor in person. We agree doctor does not have Xray vision. They give me their fax number to ask hospital to send details to.

I ring Minor Injuries and they say that they routinely send details to the GP the next day (so today) so try GP again tomorrow (Thursday).

Friday (always wait longer than they say): Ring GP who say that they still only have her “did not wait” on file. (I feel like shouting: Im not a child abuser mother, she did get seen, please don’t judge me! But I know I had ignored her crying since Saturday so I’m never going to win that argument.) They suggest ringing hospital again.

Ring medical records who say that I can either fill in a form to request the information which could take 28 days or I can ask the GP to request the information directly. I said “I thought the information was sent automatically to my GP?”. “Oh yes” they said “would you like to speak to Minor Injuries to ask them to send it again?”. 🤦‍♀️

I ask to be transferred.

Minor Injuries tell me they routinely send the information the next day. I said that was Wednesday so shouldn’t they have had it by now? They tell me not to be so stupid (Im paraphrasing): It goes second class post so it definitely wont have arrived yet. They suggest I wait till Monday.

I ask if they can fax the details (as the surgery suggest). 🙀 “we dont *fax* anything” (I could hear the italics in her voice: data protection/security/confidentiality, or something)

So I have to try GP again on Monday.. (Luckily? I know that x-ray is always going to have a broken bone on it)

The saga continues…..
